We had a pleasant stay at the farm. We were well Looked after and we had everything we needed. We did a walk through the fields to a nearby pub. About a mile/ 55 mins walk. We used the hot tub, well the kids did. We made a beef stew using the camp fire. And hired a stone pizza oven and the pizza came out really tasty. Didn’t have a chance to use the bbq as the weather was not great. The weather is a bit cold in April staying in the farm. The use of wood fire burner took a bit time to master. After fire light and kindlings, and use the dryer block of wood first and then the normal one. A couple of nights during our stay were quite storming therefore it was quite noisy in the tents. It’s worth it to get a couple ear plugs. Staying in the tents can be quite cold. Pantry has electrical charging point you can charge your power bank. Honesty shop - you can some essential there. Lambing took place during our stay and kids love to hold the lambs.

Lovely time at featherdown. The kids loved the cupboard beds, the lambs and the free chicken. Dogs friendly. Great accomodation. Bring extra blanket for chilly nights. Lovely stay, will be back for more as it is so relaxing.

Truly disconnected glamping! No electricity at all. No 'running' hot water (cold tap for sink) No modern day distractions. In return you get: A wood fired stove A wood/charcoal BBQ A gas fired shower (warm but not hot) An optional wood fired hot tub A flush toilet And the atmosphere of true relaxation and peace, a starlit sky, fields to roam, and going back to looking after ourselves. If you like the idea of camping but without the limited space and lack of facilities stop wasting your time reading this and get your next holiday booked here! For this who still need convincing you might as well read on... The tent itself is very spacious. 2 bedrooms (one bunk one double) and a cupboard room, not Harry Potter style, but more like a slightly shorter twin size bed about waist height of off the ground. Although meant for children could easily sleep a couple of shorter adults. The living space is more than big enough for 5/6 but with the outside decking and bonfire pit you won't be spending too much time inside anyway. The kitchen is equipped with all the pot, pans and utensils you're likely to need. All lighting is supplied by either candlelight or paraffin lamps. There is an onsite honestly shop as well for the camping essentials and a few of the non essentials, but there are a number of store and supermarkets within 15 minutes of the site. Things to note to ensure a smooth day... Give the stove at least an hour to get to temperature for cooking. I highly recommend using HOTMAX (Google it and you'll need to bring with you) for quick extra heat. For those that like regular hot drinks, I would suggest bringing a camping stove/cooker to heat a camping kettle quickly. The little stove keeps the place very warm! If it is a cold week ensure you add a log or two before going to bed and the first up for add more kindling and stoke. The hot tub takes about 2-3 hours to get to temp. Once there it is easy to maintain. Don't get too carried away with the heating of it or you'll have a family of lobsters. The BBQ may offer a quicker source of cooking (grill plates are kept in the shop) if you use charcoal to the extra heat output. Bring extra candles if you like to have a lighter environment in the evening/night. The amount provided offers plenty of light for normal evening activities. Anyway, with all that said, if you can go without electricity (there is a phone charging option on site) then you should be considering a trip here for a chance to get away from the stresses of life, and dare I say it, get back to you. We will be doing this again.

Beautiful place. Peaceful. My 4years old loved feeding chickens and encounters with sheep. We went middle of September and nights were very cold. So probably best going during summer or close to summer so that days are longer. Because the candles we had didn't last the whole night. It's very pretty and for a couple can be extremely romantic in my opinion. Beautiful place ... You can get free eggs directly from the chickens. Exactly what we expected. It was amazing
