Helpful repairs and servicing, range of accessories and lots of expertise re adaptations for disabled riders. Offer a 'courtesy bike' loan option if you need to be mobile while bike is in for servicing! Have used them for several years to maintain my bike which gets a fair bit of use around York.

Really impressed with my experience getting my bike repaired here, couldn't recommend highly enough! Incredibly reasonable labour fees, very speedy turnaround time even when extra parts needed to be ordered in and extra work needed doing beyond what was initially expected, great communication. And they didn't turn their nose up at my fixie unlike the last repair shop I went to!

As an employee of Get Cycling Events, I have always had a really positive experience of the place. Having seen everything from behind the scenes, I can attest to just how friendly, organised and customer-focused the GC team really are. While working here, client satisfaction has always been the top priority and, as our work continues to develop and expand, the team members continue to hold a sincere commitment to cycling, community, sustainability and inclusion.

my son has a disabilty so i rang pashley to buy a TR1 TRYCYCLE and they recommended to buy the bike off one of there supplier get cycling in york, so i went to get cycling in york and bought the tricycle TR1 from them but after a couple of months a fault with the chain it snapped faulty chain or manufactorors fault so under warrantee they said when i bought the bike just ring us at get cycling in york if the trycycle breaks down they would fix it, so the trycycle had a fault faulty chain ect when i called them they said they dont collect or deliver because they only collect and deliver in there local area this was not mentioned to me in the shop when i bought the bike from them, and if they did collect there would be a charge about £100.00 even its still under warrantee and not our fault as they need to see the bike before they can make any descisions not very help full at all, i have demanded a full refund as bike was sold with a fault and its under warrantee, so any future customers wanting to by any sort of bicycles from this outfit be aware because if anything goes wrong with your bicycle after purchasing it from get cycling york be prepared you will have to bring it back to there shop in york to get it fixed even under the warrantee at your expense, and this cycle shop delivers all over uk, i feel sorry for anyone living opposite ends of the country big expense, and the attitude from some of the staff not help full be carefull all future customers.

This is the best cycle repair shop. Adam is always there. I call, he comes fixes the problem in the van on the drive. Super service. A bike I was going to sell and spruce up was a little pricey but they offered to do it with spare parts instead which halved the price. Great customer service. Great repair service. They know what their doing and go out of their way to make it affordable.

Get Cycling in York was in my experience a good community run cycle repair and shop up until about a year or so ago, but my recent experience with them fell short of this. A job I requested of just replacing a bottom bracket (ca. £40) inflated with their suggestion to something closer to £300 when their mechanic suggested in essence replacing the entire power transmission components front and rear. They looked surprised when I pointed out that this had been done just the year previously, and by them. They checked on their database and it had. So we negotiated down to something more like £150 so as to include a bottom bracket, new rear wheel and brake pads. They completed this work after ca two weeks. The work was basically fine though they didn’t attempt to index the gears. Thing is, although the cable to the front mech was a bit stretched there was nothing wrong with the front and rear derailleurs that needed replacing, nor the cassette nor the front ring, and the chain was also barely over a year old. So it is a little frustrating that they suggested replacing them. They are not unique in cycle repair shops suggesting that more work needs to be done than is actually the case, but I just find it disappointing in this particular case bearing in my past good experience of them that they seemed to have now ventured down this alternative business model. I don’t now feel I can trust them, which is a pity since for the previous ca. 8 years of my using them I had some really top service, as reflected by many of the reviews of other past customers. May be the management has changed.
