I will never ever recommend these centres to help children, especially the Yardley branch, which encourages children to spend more time playing, instead of learning.The management here are more interested in attracting staff that play, rather than teach. I removed my son from this place and employed a private tutor instead, who was cheaper and made a difference straight away. DONT BE CONNED by this centre.

In the two years I worked here, I have seen a remarkable improvement in all of the children I've worked with, not only academically but socially as well. The managers invest a lot of time and resources into training us tutors which allows us to enhance your child's education and provide the best service. We always aim to give the children a complete understanding of any challenging topics they face by the end of each session and I have never worked with a more dedicated team so invested in achieving this shared goal. I remember a young girl who came in, 4 years of age, who was extremely nervous on her first day, unable to socialise with anyone. Within a matter of weeks, she was one of the most sociable kids in the centre! Her confidence had increased tenfold and she was absolutely smashing her phonics. One of the boys who was in my 11+ sessions was finding the topics of ratios, percentages and fractions fairly challenging and was achieving less than 50% in his tests near the beginning of the year. With support and a lot of practice within the centre, he was achieving >80% in nearly all of his practice tests for 11+. In the additional creative writing sessions, I was working with a child who had SEN. The weekly sessions helped him to build bonds with his peers, develop self-confidence (He enjoyed presenting his work to our group at the end of sessions) and greatly improve his creative writing skills. He could write a brilliant, descriptive story of a historical event! These are a few of the kids I worked with in the centre and can't emphasise enough how Explore Learning Yardley has brought out the best in them and will help them as they progress through primary and secondary school!
