Avoid. I am a small touring company who have used Excel loyally and frequently for gigs. I booked a SWB, which I unfortunately had to cancel as it was too small. I booked a LWB, and Excel retained half the booking fee for the original SWB, in addition to the full booking fee for the LWB. I understand some fees have to be retained in the event of late cancellation, however, it was shared to me over the phone that the SWB had been rebooked by another customer, and as stated, I had rebooked a LWB. No losses were experienced by Excell here, only gains. Overall, it has cost £408 for one van, required only for 24hrs (I am still waiting on the partial refund from the SWB, my current loss is £606). Customer service was patronising and condescending, and kept reiterating "we have excellent customer service". As a small business owner relying on gig economy, this has absolutely destroyed my business and I will be unable to recuperate. If this review prevents other customers having similar experiences it will be worthwhile.
