    A great experience from start to finish. The team were friendly and professional from start to finish. This was my first time using Europcar but I will definitely be using then again. The vehicle I rented was clean and great to drive, and the out-of-hours return service is also a huge plus. But the biggest reason for my review is the swift return the next day of my valuables that I had forgotten on the rear passenger seat. A HUGE relief for me.

Make it make sense - procedure and policies when pre boooking A letter with proof of address and physical card linked to account when pre booking is needed Charged a cancellation fee (£45) when adv it would be waived! Now awaiting a small refund Upto 10 working days later. Terrible customer service over the phone as you can’t processs a refund in store (disconnected three times)

    I am becoming increasingly disenchanted with Europcar in the UK. This particular depot is actually a dilapidated 5 storey car park with an office at street level. Upon returning your expensive rental car, you will find yourself having to drive yourself up to the 5th floor, and then walk all the way back down with your luggage and passengers dodging cars coming up, because there is no lift. I really needed an automatic having recently broken my ankle. Nothing sensible could be found, as I was not in the market for a £185 a day Mercedes A class. In the end, I had to go back the next day, pay an extra £60, and after waiting for over 45 minutes I was given a well-used Golf, which had been sprayed with so much strong cleaning fluid, that it was necessary to drive around with the windows down. When I wound them up, it then became obvious that BOTH rear wheel bearings were seriously worn and would eventually seize. The grinding noise from the rear was considerable. This evidently did not come as a surprise to the preparation staff, on the 5th floor. None of this is an exaggeration, and it's fairly typical of the way that Europcar (and some others) believe that their customers should now be paying more to receive less in the wake of the pandemic etc. So that will be your choice - you can guess what mine is.
