I absolutely love this place. Great selection of corals and fish. This shop often gets some really unusual fish and corals. Great for soft corals and LPS coral at reasonable prices which for me is one of the biggest bonuses as I am not advanced enough for hard corals and I find a lot of marine shops in the area focus on hard corals and only sell really expensive soft coral or tiny little frags. You can get everything you need here from food to water again all at really reasonable prices. Above everything though, and the reason I write this review today, is because of the service I get here. I tend to have A LOT of problems with my tank and the help and advice I get here has been amazing. Yesterday they even reprogrammed my lighting schedule which I was really struggling to do. In other shops I have felt as if my cluelessness had been used to sell me things sometimes but I have never felt that here. The help I get here is 100% genuine and I can’t thank them enough for this :)

After reading reviews I was more than happy to place an order with Essex marines - however the experience was terrible. Luckily I’m an experienced reefer and know what I’m looking out for. Coral was infested with aiptasia and bristle worms (which I’m not overly bothered by) the fact it was sold in this way is disappointing for the hobby. No refund, credit or discount offered. Be aware.
