Having seen the work done on a friend’s house, we approached Essex Brickwork & Repointing. Michael removed pebbledashing from the front of our house and replaced the concrete pointing with lime. It looks amazing. They cleaned up after themselves every day and in all, this was an excellent experience. Everything was done on time and on budget. Lovely guys! Communications were great throughout. We have no hesitation in recommending this company.

Completed the project within a week and very very happy with how they conducted themselves, the quality of work and the competitive quote. I’ll definitely be booking these guys back in to do the back of the house. Cheers!

I can only praise the work that Michael and Russell carried out for us this week. They removed pebbledash and repointed the bricks from the front facade of our house. I was surprised that only a handful of bricks needed replacing, and I'm sure this was down to their carefulness and skill. I was extremely happy with the finish and impressed that Michael was able to complete the work in 5 days. They used sheets to protect the property from dust, and any mess was cleaned up each day, including minimal mess that was caused to the neighbours. Michael's quotation for the work was also the best that I had - and I thought it very reasonable. I can't thank them enough for their outstanding work. Michael is an extremely polite, punctual, professional and skilled tradesman who I couldn't recommend enough! He did what he said he'd do, and was very upfront from start to finish. I'll be getting him to do the back of the house in the near future.

Can't recommend Michael and his team more - they removed the old render on our Edwardian terrace, restoring and repointing the original brickwork underneath. Great job, very efficient and tidy - and clearly take pride in what they do!

The Essex brickwork and repointing team did a fantastic job on renovating the facade of our Victorian terrace in Hackney. Me and my partner are so happy and grateful for all of the hard work you put in which exceeded our expectations. Thanks again and we would 100% recommend. Lottie and Seb

Our job was cancelled by Michael at Essex Brickwork 1 week before it was due to start, having booked it in 3 months prior. We were in touch on numerous occasions during the 3 months, and Michael called out to the house about 10 days before the job to confirm everything. Then a few days later he emailed to say because their other jobs were running over he would have to cancel or delay the job to Jan 2020 at the earliest. Absolutely appalling customer service to cancel only days before the job, wasting over 3 months of our time. After pressing him a number of times to keep the job as planned, he then said his father had had a stroke. If that is true, he of course has our sympathies, but I don't understand how this affects the job as his father would not be carrying out the work, it would be Michael's team. He then just stopped responding. Incredibly poor service, he just does not care about his customers at all. We had also paid for scaffolding to be erected for them, and of course have lost that money as well. I would strongly advise anyone not to work with this company. ****REPLY TO MICHAELS RESPONSE BELOW**** I texted in reply to your cancellation email as we had already been communicating by text at that point. When I said I would name and shame you and your company, this was not a threat, it was stating a fact, and I am happy to re sate that fact here, I will continue to name and shame you and your company because potential new customers deserve to know that you do not honour your agreements and you might cancel an agreed job with no warning. In your reply below, you said there was no contract between us, so did your written agreement to do the job over 3 months ago in numerous emails mean nothing to you? And did your further verbal agreement to do the job when you came to the house a week before the job also mean nothing to you? In that statement in your reply below you have effectively admitted you do not care about written agreements with your customers, unless it is a legally binding contract. So I will reiterate what I have said, I would strongly advise any potential new customers not to work with you as you do not honour your written agreements. You mention you have other positive reviews and happy customers, but you are forgetting that you and your company are only as good as your most recent work / customer service. It is of no interest to an already dissatisfied customer to hear that all your other customers are happy. A customers only concern is whether they are happy and whether you are honouring your commitment to do their job, which you are not. Had you mentioned in your first cancellation email that it was because of your father I would have accepted it, but the reason you gave (see attached photo) was because your other jobs were over running. You only mentioned your father in later text's when I was putting pressure on you to honour your agreement. Your other over running jobs are continuing as planed, despite what you say about needing to travel abroad for your father. So it is clear you chose to cancel this job with no regard for the written agreement you made with us. Had you delayed it by a few weeks I could understand, but by delaying until Jan 2020 you were effectively cancelling the job as you knew that would mean waiting for 6 months in total, which no customer would be prepared to do. If you are so concerned with customer service, then I am happy to give you one more chance to carry out the job, and to show all your potential new customers reading this review that you will honour your written agreements. You have the opportunity to make this right. Otherwise you need to accept your companies failings and stop trying to pretend this is acceptable behaviour. I have included photos of our text communication after your email cancellation. It is plain to see you made no attempt to rectify the issue and you stopped replying before I said I would name and shame your company.
