  Esh community, in short, work wonders. I came into this treatment center during a crisis point in my drinking. I was beaten and hollow, very ill and depressed. My alcoholism had reached a low where it was either get help or drink myself into the ground but when I'd made the decision to come here, I was welcomed with open arms, warm smiles and a feeling of absolute calm and safety. These people wanted nothing more than my recovery from my hopeless situation. The place is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by nature and a general feeling of hope and compassion. The culture that's bread at ESH is something that's rarely seem in treatment centers; their formula works and the knowledgeable and empathetic staff (all in recovery) fit in perfectly with delivering a person centered program that cultivates wellbeing and the beginning of a new, healthy and sober life. This place saved me in more ways than one and the truth is, one day at a time, I'm living a beautiful, well balanced life now. Because of ESH I'm accountable and present. I cannot recommend this place enough and it is a privilege to now be part of the extended ESH family. If you have found your self with no Hope, if you're thinking there's no way out of your addiction, whether it be drink or drugs, then pick up the phone and speak to these guys because with these guys help, you never have to be in this horrible place of suffering again.   I really am truly grateful to have started my recovery at ESH. The staff are extremely patient and understanding. They take a pragmatic yet spiritual approach in combating addiction. More importantly the support doesn't stop after you have completed your time at the facility . Can't rate them high enough.

  Fantastic establishment, helpful caring and experienced staff, beautiful location. 1st class all round. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone in need of treatment. If you are ready to be open willing and honest I can't think of anywhere that could do a better job at showing you a new way of life.

  I entered ESH in a mess. I was a heavy user of Heroin and Crack. My health was not good, but I didn't realise how bad it was. During my detox I was just over 8 stone, but left ESH 10.6 stone. ESH staff along with the local hospital were fantastic adapting and helping with my medical needs. With a group of just 6 residents you all create a real bond. Counselling and education sessions were really focused and personal. Food and facilities are perfect. I left ESH feeling and looking like a completely new man. Thanks Paul/Sue and the team!x

  ESH Community saved my life, with the help of my family and people around me i would not have found such a place. And what a place it is. ESH got me clean and sober for 6 weeks and I now want to be sober the rest of my life. The people are wonderful, from the first moment I called Paul to all the staff. Everyone was so nurturing and the daily recovery/education sessions are second too none, Counselling, Recovery skills, Step work all helped me unlock parts of myself routed in my addiction I didn't know were there and they gave me a sense of thinking, acting and being beyond anything else. ESH is truly a special place. I could be myself. They helped me through my highs and lows and showed me nothing but unconditional love even in my darkest moments. At ESH Community you get a family for life, chosen by you and I am eternally grateful for everything they have done for me. They help you build your mind, body and spirit/soul in a way I never thought possible. When they say their aftercare is lifelong, it's true! Thankyou for everything you have done for me and my family. My family have their son and brother back and my fiance has her partner back. I have my sense of self back. X

  I'm editing my review from 2 years ago (below) to add an update. It's now been 3 years since I went to ESH and I am still sober. The lessons and guidance I was offered by the wonderful staff at this incredible rehab remain with me every day. My life now is a million miles away from the living nightmare I was suffering when I first arrived. If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction, please pick up the phone and talk to ESH. They saved my life and set me on the path to a new, fulfilling one that brings me joy. Original review: It's now been 2 years since I went to ESH and also 2 years that I've been sober. When I arrived at ESH I was physically, mentally and spiritually broken. My addiction to alcohol had brought me to the brink of death and I was beyond desperate. The life I enjoy now would have been unrecognisable to me back then and I owe an enormous debt of gratitude to the incredible work ESH does helping addicts like me in early recovery. Life at ESH was busy and varied. The sessions that were provided covered a huge range of strategies that, still to this day, help me manage every day life without needing to drink: CBT, 1-2-1 counselling, regular exercise, meditation, study of literature, incredible home cooked food, 24 hour support with staff always on hand and willing to help, closely monitored medical assistance, clean comfortable rooms, beautiful nature all around-- and, for me, most importantly an introduction to 12 step programmes of recovery. We attended regular AA and NA meetings so we could hear stories from other addicts in recovery who form an enormous support community that I rely on to this day. This ensured that, upon leaving ESH, I walked straight into a fellowship of people who could support me on the outside. The staff at ESH understand recovery from their own experiences and past struggles. As such, I was able to identify with everyone from the second I entered. Unlike other forms of treatment I'd sought in the past, this gave me incredible insight into my own struggles from the perspective of empathetic people with first hand experience. It was a lot of hard work but ESH was also the place that taught me how to have fun in sobriety. My first sober laughs were found there. My life now, in sobriety, is full, rewarding but most importantly- happy, peaceful and serene. ESH taught me that we don't get clean and sober just to continue living in pain. I've have taken this lesson with me and can honestly say that I have a life beyond my wildest dreams. If you or a loved one is struggling and you read this, ring ESH and ask for help. It stands for Experience, Strength, Hope and Community.- you will find an abundance of it there.

  In 2018, I had the opportunity to visit ESH Community to address my addiction issues. Looking back, I can confidently say it is the most fantastic place for this purpose. The staff were incredibly supportive and helped me navigate the complex recovery process with professionalism and compassion. The initial medically assisted detox was just the first step in the process. The real solution lay in the comprehensive rehabilitation support that followed. Thanks to personalised counselling, group therapy, and educational programs, I was able to identify the root causes of my addiction and learn healthy coping mechanisms that have been crucial to my recovery journey. One thing that I particularly appreciated about ESH Community was their introduction to Narcotics Anonymous. This program has been a vital part of my continued recovery and has helped me maintain my abstinence. In fact, I'm proud to say that I've been clean for over three years now, and I credit much of that success to the start I had at ESH Community. My experience at ESH Community was worth every penny my parents paid; they confirm this to be an understatement. What's more, the impact of my experience at ESH Community has extended far beyond my recovery from addiction. Thanks to their guidance and support, I have completely changed the trajectory of my life. I am now on course to go to university for the first time, something I never thought possible before my experience at ESH Community. Overall, I highly recommend ESH Community to anyone struggling with addiction issues. They provide a comprehensive, personalised approach to recovery that genuinely changed my life. I am forever grateful for their help and support, and I know that without their guidance, I would not be where I am today.   ESH Community is an excellent rehab facility. The staff are respectful and thorough. The daily counselling sessions are warm, insightful and intense - in a good way. The accommodation and facilities are spotless and comfortable. The food is great & varied. There are a lot of activities available outside of the counselling sessions. The fact that there is only a small group of residents/clients at any one time also provides a safe and conducive atmosphere for recovery. Thank you to everyone at ESH, Jonathan

  The six weeks I spent at ESH saved and changed my life. I have been blown away by the level of care provided by the ESH team. Paul & Sue were brilliant in supporting the lines of communication with my employer and my family. The counselling with Sam has been life changing - providing the safe space to tackle the underlying issues that drove my addiction. Mark, Paddy, Nick, Adam, and David led excellent, empowering sessions that helped me gain a new perspective on my life. The support staff: Jarrod, Dan, Andrew have been giving of their time, soul and spirit. I will miss Cathy & Juliet’s cooking. I will be staying in touch with the EH family.

  The best decision I've made is when I went to ESH. The staff are all very supportive and really give you their best. The facilities are all great and the home cooked food is amazing. There is a well balanced time table from all the education to the walks and meetings. If I ever get asked I will highly recommend this place.
