I just moved recently to Cardiff to join the BBC NOW and I am extremely happy I found Cardiff Violins. I had insurance valuations made, big repairs to my violins, purchased a lovely Nurnberger violin bow from them and most recently I had a good bow rehair done by Alecio and it just great. Everyone is really friendly at the shop and you will always get honest advice from them. Thanks Cécile, Jo, Alecio, Mark and everyone else there.

Wonderful shop with such helpful staff. My wife wanted a viola bow and spent two half days trying out about 20 different bows within our price range. Lots of help and advice was given (including places to visit next time and local eateries), and I was allowed to try out some violin bows on their violins as I am in the market for a new one soon. Will also leave one other violin with them in due course to improve the sound; I have high hopes! The trial room had about 60 violas on the wall, giving some idea of their range. Cannot recommend them too highly!

I couldn't be more satisfied. A very experienced team, giving useful and relevant advice on all aspects of my violin. In the end they carried out some major adjustments to previous repair work by another shop. Those changes transformed the sound beyond all recognition. A remarkable achievement.

Just a message from the Netherlands to let you know that I am incredibly happy with my revised violin. The sound is so much better, warmer, with more elegance and still easy to play on. And everything fits as it should. You did splendid work at the Esta Summer School in August 2022. Very happy with the result! Best wishes, Mirjam Lumkeman, Vioolles Almere Oostvaarders, the Netherlands.

I recently had major repair work done on my violin by Joe of Cardiff Violins. He did an excellent job with meticulous attention to detail. Joe removed the belly in order to repair extensive worm damage and cracks. He elevated the fingerboard and fitted a top quality soundpost and bridge before varnishing my violin. The new set up and repairs has resulted in a massively improved tone and my violin has never sounded better. Communication was very good throughout. I have been going to Cardiff Violins for years and have always been very happy with the service.
