I reported house not fit to live in which I rented and have been scammed to Erewash City Council Environment Health Department and they said they would investigate my situation. They never did, completely ignored me and when I took landlord to the court I won the case. landlord broke the law and nobody would care and he didn’t even get a fine or anything.

I requested help for my business and was promised an urgent callback within 48 hours yet I had to phone up 6 days later for an update to chase it up and get any updates on my case which weren't available as callcentre staff seem to be dealing with everyone yet have no info or able to contact anyone in the council unless it's by email as they are "all at home". The call centre staff are very apologetic buy as I queried I can't pay anything with an apology so its pretty useless and asked if I could just have some assistance and people do their job rather than the apology. The local mp is also useless so don't bother wasting your time with her as she only seems interested in serving herself rather than constituents. So at the min erewash borough council is un approachable for any issues you have regarding your business and cannot and will not help with even the smallest amount of information which will be reflected when council tax is due 😉

I have to say that the quality of service you get from them can be very hit and miss. They have reduced opening hours of some departments due to Covid, but I don't recall our Council Tax being reduced to reflect this?

As a business currently on lockdown during the Covid-19 pandemic, we are entitled to a business grant to help keep businesses afloat. Although made available by the government, It is almost 5 weeks now sine the grants became available and due to be paid by the council. Despite several chasing up calls we are still waiting for the grant. Absolute incompetence.
