I purchased a blue Von Bench through the ercol outlet. It took ages and a world of complexity to arrange delivery. Once delivered, the bench arrived smashed. It wasn't packaged with any care whatsoever (i.e. just the bench in a big cardboard box with nothing to protect it in transit). Ercol assured me that it could be repaired, so I arranged a collection (involving weeks of back and forth emails). Once the courier finally collected and delivered (again, a process that took many weeks), I was informed by Ercol the bench couldn't be repaired, and that they couldn't replace like for like. I'm not sure why this judgment couldn't have been made earlier and avoided a world of disappointment. Saddened as this is a company that our family once held in high regard, but no longer. I can't see us using them again

Our Marinello sofas have seat cushions that squashed and creased awfully within the first 10 minutes of use. They were inspected within a week of being delivered and found to be unsatisfactory (ie very poor quality). These sofas are sold as tailored and are supposed to be of a high quality. Also, there were material faults in the centre of one of the seat back cushions.We are currently awaiting replacement inners and cushion cover but having read so many negative reports are dreading the replacement inners being just the same. We have ourselves looked inside many different sofa cushions in various stores and ercol really do seem to have the poorest quality foam, ie it can be squeezed to nothing by one old lady with arthritic hands!!!! The foam on our larger sofa cannot even cope with an 8 stone adult! We are so, so disappointed. These were going to be our sofas for life but we fear they may barely last a year. Hopefully ercol will do something positive to improve the cushion inners on their sofas. There are so many poor reviews on different sites about ercol poor quality cushions you would think that they would try to do something about this. However, it raises the question, does ercol care? We have now been waiting 8 months for satisfactory sofas and as yet no one from ercol has ever contacted us directly. We so wish we had read all the negative reviews. Turned away at the door during opening hours after driving to see furniture at the showroom. Told by staff that viewings are now by appointment only now. No explanation why but covid is no longer a valid excuse. They weren't busy and could easily have shown us around (and likely made a sale). I got the impression staff couldn't be bothered and wanted to leave early as it was Friday afternoon. Disappointing.
