Joel has been teaching my youngest daughter for four years for both singing and piano. My daughter has a great relationship with Joel and has made fantastic progress – particularly with her singing. Joel has taken her all the way through her grades from Grade 2 through to Grade 8 and to Grade 5 with piano. Joel is always super flexible with lessons and fits in with her needs at the time. One week he may be teaching her a grade piece and then the next week they are preparing for an audition piece, an assessment, a cabaret piece or a recording. Joel’s lessons start with a warm up and then they move on to learning specific songs. They initially learn the outline and then fine tune it. This approach has worked brilliantly and has helped my daughter progress through her singing grades confidently. Joel has a relaxed and cheery teaching style and is very approachable – his instruction is always constructive whilst really encouraging as well. My middle daughter also has singing lessons with Gem. The main objective for her was to use her lessons as a way of unwinding and relaxing. Hence, Gem has kept their lessons very chilled and comfortable whilst still providing positive and constructive instruction. My daughter thoroughly enjoys her weekly singing session. We gifted my eldest daughter drum lessons with David for her 21st, and she has absolutely loved it. This was something she has wanted to do for some time but was nervous about starting as an adult learner. David has been nothing but welcoming, and has tailored their lessons to learning what she is interested in. Joel and Jan from the Epping Music School also try to provide different opportunities for their students to have different musical experiences. They regularly host band days, piano ***, school concerts which encourage the students to mix and perform together and to enjoy their love of music together. I can’t recommend Jan highly enough. I have always wanted to take singing lessons but was a little nervous to do so. Jan is such a wonderful person and made me feel at ease straight away. If you are looking for a warm,welcoming place to take music lessons,then this place is for you! I've been taking piano lessons with Mr Joel Goodman. I am delighted to say that I passed grade 1,and now I am preparing towards grade 2. All I can say is that I've been impressed with his professionalism, but yet the warmth and ability to make a beginner like me, feel comfortable and confident in no time. I would definitely recommend him to anyone wishing to take piano lessons with the certainty that no one would be disappointed.
