FAQ

What types of grapes are grown on your vineyard?

At Enjoy Discovering Wine, we grow a variety of grapes on our vineyard, including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Sauvignon. We carefully select the grapes that will thrive in our climate and soil to ensure the best possible quality for our wines.

How do you ensure the quality of your wine?

We take several measures to ensure the quality of our wine. We carefully monitor the growing conditions of our grapes, including soil nutrients, water levels, and weather patterns. We handpick our grapes to ensure that only the best fruit is used in our wines. We also use traditional winemaking techniques and age our wines in oak barrels to enhance flavor and complexity.

What is your winemaking process?

Our winemaking process includes several steps, including harvesting, crushing, fermentation, aging, and bottling. We carefully handpick our grapes and crush them to extract the juice. We then add yeast to the juice to begin the fermentation process. After fermentation, the wine is aged in oak barrels to enhance its flavor and complexity. Finally, the wine is bottled and aged for several more months before being released for sale.

Do you offer tours or wine tastings on-site?

Yes, we offer tours and wine tastings on-site at Enjoy Discovering Wine. Our tours include a visit to our vineyards, winery, and barrel room, as well as a tasting of our wines. We also offer private tours and tastings for groups and events.

What sets your vineyard apart from others in the area?

At Enjoy Discovering Wine, we pride ourselves on our commitment to quality and sustainability. We carefully handpick our grapes and use traditional winemaking techniques to ensure the best possible flavor and complexity in our wines. We also prioritize sustainability in our vineyard practices, including using natural fertilizers and pest control methods. Additionally, our location in the beautiful coastal town of Hamble-le-Rice offers stunning views and a unique atmosphere for visitors.

Key to my Diploma Success and so much more!!! Erica and Jim's (Global Wine Academy) Diploma D3 Theory Match Fit Course was instrumental for my success. The teaching style is warm and inclusive and their passion for wine and communication are inspirational. The focus is firmly on development of writing, time management and concisely linking to style, quality and price and theory from all corners of the vast diploma syllabus. Working in groups was daunting initially, but on reflection the match fit peer learning format and being able to offer constructive peer feedback has offered huge and unexpected personal growth and relit my passion to share my love of all things wine. Very grateful for your patience and support. Thank you both 🙌🥂

Erica's teaching style really works for me. She's highly personable and knowledgeable with an unrivalled sense of fun and exploration. She also has all sorts of wonderfully innovative memory tips and tricks, which totally bring the textbook to life in an engaging way that really sticks. I got a distinction with my first ever wine exam with Enjoy Discovering Wine, so roll on the next 'virtual classroom' classes! #AdaptingToChangingTimes

The problem with studying wine, and enjoying studying wine, is that the more you learn the more you realise just how little you know. So it was with studying at EDW. A genuinely fascinating and enjoyable experience that, whilst quite intense, saw me clutching a L3 Merit at the end. My passion for wine whetted with an expanded horizon to explore. Erica and her team enthused, encouraged and educated in equal measure. Seriously, who could ask for more?

Erica and her team ran an excellent course backed up by two superb masterclasses - it was very useful for my Level 4 Diploma studies. Just right combination of learning and fun!

I have been to a few of their tastings and i have done the WSET Level 2+3. The courses are thoroughly researched and very well taught in a way that makes the whole subject a lot less bewildering. A lot of work goes into their preparation and so if you want to know more about all aspects of wine, then i would thoroughly recommend it. The same goes for the tastings. Different areas of the world , or just a single wine type or geographical influences are looked at. A very good selection of surprising wines are tasted and i would say they are more fun if you have a bit of prior knowledge of tastings.

Erica and her team have been amazing throughout my wine learning journey. Knowledgeable, with many years of teaching experience and very approachable. Can communicate effectively in any level of knowledge be it a novice or experienced in a fun and engaging manner. I still visit their specialised alumni event tastings which is a great way to keep on top of my wine knowledge! I would wholeheartedly recommend Enjoy Discovering Wine to anyone who wishes to get a little (or a lot ) of insight into the world of wine.
