Englefield Green is a village that sits between Egham, Virginia Water, Ascot, and Windsor, on the escarpment overlooking the Thames with views across Windsor to the Castle in the west and on towards London in the east. Still a traditional village with a large green, with cricket in the summer, lovely local pubs, and a mix of architecture showing the villages growth over the years. It has had its share of celebrities living or filming in the area. My week with Marilyn was filmed in the actual house she stayed in after her marriage to Arthur Miller. The village also sits on the edge of Windsor Great Park and is perfect dog walking countryside. It's only drawback is the University campus of Royal Holloway College which has brought an influx of student accommodation to the village, but if you overlook that, it's perfect.

Short walk. Not worthy. Dangerous for dogs as there are roads on all sides.
