I've started taking my 9 year son on a Thursday between 6pm-7pm which is the beginners class. The instructor George is a real character, he's friendly and is very welcoming. He's engaging with his pupils but is also well respected and often has other older kids, or adults helping him. The club has a real community spirit, and he knows all the kids buy their names. This judo club is a real gem in the community. It keeps the kids fit, and builds there confidence and is alot of fun. They play a number of games as well learnt a number of judo techniques. The club feels genuine and not like a business. The price of the class is fair and I think great value. The kids ages ranges between 5-11 and of a similar size. I'm sure my son will be a member for a long time and move on to the old class after. My son has been going now for about 6 months now. He's improved a lot, grown in strength, and confidence too. He now also has some school friends that join him too. His school friend were originally doing taekwondo but found it less fun and cost twice as much as the judo class. He's also just started attending the Tuesday beginners class too (6-7pm) so doing it twice a week. This is for beginners but has a much wider range of ages. My son is ten and I've seen adults attend the class too. So it might nice that I could join the class with my son one day.
