First time using the EMR Southampton recycling site in probably 20 years. Good signage on arrival and helpful staff made it easy to drop off some non-ferrous metals I've collected from small DIY jobs. I'd registered with EMR via their website before my visit so they just needed to scan an image of my EMR customer card (image on my phone). Excellent return on the metals I sold to them, payment by transfer direct to my bank. Mark in the Payment office was really helpful and I came away with appropriate paperwork and a pencil! The guys on the weigh scale were great too! It's well worth taking your metals to EMR for recycling.

(An honest review) Warning! Be prepared to waste half a day, and that's from the point you joined the que.. If you want to unload scrap here, aim to do it the morning after the day you load it up, otherwise you could be stuck going home with a full load.. Thankfully I still have tomorrow to unload all those copper boilers/coolers, heavy bins full of stripped bright wire and large bronze boat propellers at somebody else's yard, into Somebody else's pocket. There seams to be a common theme with scrap yards, and that seams to be the total lack in common sense in the organization of access or helpful signage. At this place there's a que running from the main road. Which runs to a weighbridge. The none ferrous metal area is to the right prior to the weighbridge. With no separate queing system. So, it would probably be a good idea when you have long ques to have a member of staff walk along this que and question visitors. As to obtain they're not sat within a que, they don't need to be in. As I learned I could have just gone to the none ferrous instead of sitting for ages in the main site que. I was told when I got to the weigh bridge, with no means of turning around. That I should go to the none ferrous section. Then rejoin the main que again to unload the steel and iron. Because the none ferrous was last loaded into my van. But I couldn't simply turn around in the main yard and go back, as the none weighbridge bypass/exit was blocked by a guy sat in a lorry bottle necking, eating his lunch! So I had to que again to get over the exit weighbridge to exit. To go to the none ferrous area and que there, then rejoin the back of the main que to unload any iron. So it was a good bye from me and any further business with them. It looks organized here, but it's not...

Be careful , check you receipt ,make sure you read and it’s matching your item descriptions❗️ They don’t wanna show you the item descriptions on the first receipt they only give you a QR Qode to take to the till once you gave your QR code they scan it and they will try not to give you a receipt by talking to you in a very rude manner so you just go or they tell you wait there is a delay with the printer! Some people will go and not bother. I tried to explain to few managers the issue and trying to explain the point, they where very rude and turned around and told me that I’m not welcome in EMR ! He got angry because I told him straight he should have a word with he’s team but he didn’t like it. Just to let you know I will be coming to do my regular scraping and if you try to stop me from entering I will be taking it further and I will download our conversation to social media. You are rude ,not professional as you should respect your clients specially for kind of this Matter so no one can replace Heavy copper to Light house hold cable it’s a big difference in money and it’s called a *Professional thief * The worse customer service and care ever. Slamming window on customers face . I’ve managed people for over 10 years ,I don’t think you have a single grade in managing skills.
