I have paid a substantial amount into my funeral plan, but Empathy went into administration in 2022. I was told that I could either transfer my plan to their arranged successor, 'Dignity' or claim my money back. I continually phoned and was told the administration contractor would be in touch. I've heard nothing, and now Empathy's phones are no longer answered. Its a disgrace.

The company has closed down with a short automated message to that effect when I ring the 0345 number as advised. Dignity cannot accept my plan as was intended, so I seem to have no cover at the moment. Perhaps this is happening behind the scenes but there has been no communication.

Made an enquiry for a quote via their website, soon after I was contacted back by a lady who asked my a few questions about what it was I required in terms of my funeral. She was lovely, very informative and was happy to answer all of my questions. I found the plan they provided me very affordable and my monthly payments are manageable. I've been in touch with Empathy a few other times since to make one off payments to pay my plan. so I can pay it off sooner, so I like the fact it is flexible.
