Embassy driveways installed a new driveway and replacement fencing for me in early April. Whilst the standard of work is good, I'm not satisfied with the job they have done as although I specified a 3.3m wide driveway, with the fence to be built further back into the side garden, I have ended up with a 2.55m wide space, about the same as a supermarket parking space, and the fence has been built in the original position (albeit with a planned visibility splay), I believe because of an inspection cover around the area of the gate that I had already pointed out to them at time of quoting. I was only made aware of the altered fence position on the second morning by a phone call, (after the majority of the excavations had already been dug for the fence as I realised later), reassuring me that it would not make much difference to the size of the parking space - I'd say 75cm is a big difference. I certainly regret not looking further into it now. After living with it for a week or so I contacted the company with my complaint and offered them a way to make the driveway less cramped by extending it for 30cm on the other side, but despite the mess up they wouldn't do it without me paying more on top for materials, which I don't accept, as I've already paid for a 3.3m drive. Lastly, be aware that they quoted me exclusive of VAT but never made this clear, making for an unpleasant surprise when it was time to pay. Let the buyer beware! Joseph & this great team have done a most outstanding job of creating a simply stunning driveway for us. We were very specific in what we wanted with design, colours & materials used & nothing was too much trouble for them. Our detached house stands in quite a prominent position & has a very large frontage with side path leading to the rear garden & back door. Work included the removal of a boundary hedge with bushes & the construction of a brick wall which contained pillars & some lovely details. The gentleman who Joseph uses to build the wall is a real craftsman. Joseph's attention to detail is outstanding & he is constantly supervising the work to make sure it is done correctly 1st time. Various materials have been used to create a path & step leading to the front door, drainage installed & resin laid. We have had so many positive comments from family, friends & neighbours within the village of Kirby Muxloe & I am confident that alot more work will be coming their way as a result of our driveway being transformed by this truly talented team. Well done & thank you so very much for all your hard work!
