I went to Elthorne from 2004-2009 and have very fond memories. True, the teaching quality may be several light-years away from what you'd get at a good school but the fun-factor more than made up for it! Random stampedes around the playground at lunchtime, DT lessons where the students would spend the whole time destroying the tables and their school equipment with the various tools and machines provided, music lessons where we'd create compositions solely consisting of 'DJ DJ DJ DIC DIC DIC DIC DIC DICTIONARY', the list could go on! And don't forget the danger aspect too; kids getting expelled for bringing in knives, the hooded gangs of youths loitering outside the school after the day was over and who could forget the frequent playground-fights. But fun and danger make good bedfellows (ed- or is it strange bedfellows?), and who could complain about that!
