My alternator died on the M25... I called a few places and I was quoted between £250-£380 with a 5-7 day wait. I called Elmstead and they quotes £189+VAT with same day repair! I called the AA and they towed the truck to Elmstead and the owner got right on the job! I took a visit into Swanley to see the town and buy some things. I took a walk back to the garage and the brand new alternator has already been fitted!! When I arrived back, the owner tried to free up my brakes as they were sticking due to the caliper and offered some advice on future maintenance. He didn't charge me for this at all. It's really rare to find a good, honest and fast working mechanic these days. I live in Leicester, but would consider driving down to Swanley just so I could visit Elmstead again! Couldn't be happier!
