Rooms: Martha's hut was great for a couple, a bit like a really good hotel room, except with a bath on the veranda and a private firepit, felt very secluded. Elmley cottage looked like a good place for a bigger group and the older huts looked more basic, but we only saw these from the outside. Nearby activities: Walking and bird-watching on the reserve Walkability: Easy - all the marked walking is on gravel roads Food & drinks: There is a bar in the barn with table in and out. Food was good, drinks selection decent, though book ahead as if it's quiet the staff may be tricky to track down!

Stayed in the Roost cabin for a few nights in early May. All the animals and the views are amazing. It was disneyesque at times....having a coffee on the decking with a Hare, rabbit and a moorhen with chicks all with in a few meters of us. So many different birds, breeding, nesting or with chicks. We did an evening tour with Fiona that was excellent, full of info and we saw a barn owl but she gave us info on how to see the little owls which we then saw the next day. We're nature lovers rather than specifically bird watchers but we still identified 50 different birds during our short stay. We'll definitely be back

Totally magical place where you can see a great variety of birds as well as hares and other wildlife. It's worth taking your time and driving slowly down the track to the car park.

What a special place. Wildlife is abundant - like being on safari in the African savannah. We stayed in the Roost which was cleverly and perfectly kitted out, with wonderful folding fully glazed doors letting us enjoy the view from bed. We did a walking tour with Fiona who is incredibly knowledgeable, and we enjoyed meals in the restaurant, and breakfast delivered to our cabin. You can walk for miles and use the bird hides, or just lounge around your private cabin, enjoying the outdoor bath with a view.
