Got to say I was disappointed even though I was staying with family and didn't personally pay so don't know the price. This was was a perfectly acceptable B&B but nothing special and it did suffer from some usual problems of houses - creaky floorboards, poor internal sound protection between rooms - even if these can also be attributed to hotels. It's also very close to a main motorway access road so the traffic noise was audible from my room. What disappointed me most was the bathroom, the only soap provided was from a dispenser in the shower so when using the hand basin you had to reach into the shower to wash hands - and it was more like shower gel. The biggest thing was that there was toothpaste on the exterior of the basin, which was blue and not green like mine so clearly hadn't been cleaned as thoroughly as I'd expect - couldn't really get past this if I'm honest. I'll also add that the 'continental breakfast' just seemed to be small boxes of cereal and a few packaged pastries. It's not without merit though as the bed were very comfortable and the proprietor Des was extremely friendly and helpful.

Thank you Des for making my stay so pleasant! This property is quiet, clean and very comfortable. I enjoyed my view out across the field. Des creates a very informal atmosphere and I had a couple of fascinating chats with him. I was here, traveling on my own, to attend a family funeral, and this was the ideal place to relax and prepare. Thank you, would definitely recommend Elmcroft!
