Rooms: We had a triple bed family room (275) in the Lodge. Very clean, spacious and tidy. Walkability: No more than a 30 minute amble to the Minster. Good eating places within walking distance if you choose not to eat at hotel. Food & drinks: Great menu. Try the York Gin

What a lovely hotel! The room was charming, clean, well-furnished, and beautifully decorated. The elegant bathroom had the most amazing decorative tile! I enjoyed dining in the hotel restaurant, where the food was amazing. The friendly staff members very helpful and accommodating. I would gladly stay here again, and I highly recommend!!

Rather disappointing really, we got a 50% off deal at £23. Ushered into the tired bar?? and served at a facing tin table, no white cloth, sandwiches were OK, scones hard like yesterday's, small cakes were nice. I asked for Earl Grey tea, they didn't have any! HELLO! I had to ask for top up coffee no pot as you would expect, when I mentioned this the waiter brought me a teapot of coffee?? Got the feeling as it was a deal why bother stick them anywhere, so disappointing, we so looked forward to it and dressed appropriately too! Just to be seated in a bar!! If I had paid £46 for this I would have been outraged. Don't waste your money.
