I visited Hewitts to collect a new Tudor watch and was made to feel very welcome by Helen and Jonathan. I even had my existing watch cleaned while the bracelet on the Tudor was being adjusted. First class service and would definitely buy from Hewitts again.

If I could give zero stars then I most definitely would be. Came to Grimsby town centre as I'm on holiday visited the store because I noticed there's was a watch I've been looking at for a while. Entering the store I was greeted by a young lady, very polite she went upstairs to find someone who could "assist me" A mature gentlman came down the stairs he greeted me by saying he was almost closing and couldn't help me. Conclusion of my visit: G.Hewitt & Son I will definitely not be returning and your store! Your customer service is appalling all I can say now is your loss not mine as your tills could have been £15.650 fuller this evening. Disgusting behaviour.

My husband has visited twice, both times he was declined entry to the shop and treated in a rather rude and demeaning manor. On the first occasion he was wanting to purchase a watch and had seen a Rolex in the window he wanted to see - he was declined entry? The second time today he went to replace a chain for a diamond solitaire necklace which was a custom piece I have owned for a number of years which are was several thousand pounds at time of purchase and thought we may have to have a chain made - again he was met with a rude response there was no interest in the problem we had with chain not any interest in helping us source a chain. Now I may be cynical but maybe judgment was made on appearances or maybe because my husband is not a white male - I am not sure and would not like to make allegations, but surely if a customer has money to spend and is asking for help then why would this not be offered?? Well after these last few attempts I shan’t bother again, which is a shame as we have a few special occasions coming up and will be looking at watches for them. I will stick to more welcoming jewellers rather than this judgemental one.
