I had an appalling experience there and 2 years plus on I still feel both angry and thoroughly let done - the vet could barely speak English and had zero empathy -

Terribly money minded and rude. I came in with my friend for an emergency appointment just to know they rescheduled for "I don't know, we are busy now, you can just seat and wait" We filled papers and waited 30min (perhaps more) Nurse opened the door, i came in with the cat. Placed the cat on the table and when i was about to talk and show what was happening she started to talk about registration so she could know who would pay for it. Even though we said we would pay in cash, she kept on digging bureaucracy for probably 30 more minutes. After that she checked the cat's eyes which was hurt, gave some antibiotics and something to drop in the eye. And said "If not better again, bring in 3 days". But seriously, bring in 3 days for what? For more stress and another waste of exactly £283.52 cash? We took to another clinic, the doctor did not care for money and checked right way. And in 5 min he found and took off 1 cm of some piece of wood they were incapable to find before in the miserable appointment in 55 Elizabeth. Now my cat is curing. Has some white colour in some area of it's eye and will probably have some partial problem of vision because of it and that is out of their great greed, lack of professionalism and incapacity to do their work. Sincerely. Depending on the emergency, and if you can wait, go somewhere else. I just went for this place because was the only place opened when i needed.

Have been using Elizabeth street vets for more than 7 years for my dog and cat. Always super professional, kind and gentle with my fur babies.

Extremely helpful from the moment I rang up. The veterinary nurses could not have been more courteous or efficient and they went out of their way to assist me with an issue over a microchip. I would have no hesitation in recommending this practice after my experience today.

Elizabeth St vets WAS a fantastic vet practice providing 24 hour service UNTIL it was taken over by Medivet last year. My older dog is 9 and has always been registered there. Since the autumn service has fallen - difficult to get through on the phone; difficult to book appointments ahead for routine vaccinations due to no regular vets and a lot of locus staff, sometimes no vet on duty at all, only one beleaguered vet nurse on duty. Low point today was sick dog, no vet on duty until the evening - told to try other Medivet practices in the area - well good luck with that, I called 4 other Medivet clinics in reasonable distance - either no vet, or no appointments, or half the number of duty vets so no appointments. So I get an early evening appointment at Elizabeth St - but vet calls in sick. So I now need to get a later emergency appointment at another Medivet clinic for which I am now asked to pay higher out of hours rates. So if you want a service where you can always get through on the phone, book appointments ahead and know they will be there when you need them in an emergency, Medivet not scoring highly with me. The Medivet motto is ‘always there’ - not been my experience since the change of ownership at Elizabeth st.

My daughter brought her rabbit in this evening as an emergency to this practice as our normal vet was closed. The veterinary nurse at reception was very helpful, efficient and kind in a stressful situation. Not many vets are fully experienced in managing the complex nature of sick rabbits but the duty vet was superb. She asked about our rabbit’s past history, examined him thoroughly and then treated him accordingly. Even though there were regular appointments waiting outside and we’d been slotted in as an emergency, we didn’t feel rushed and went home satisfied that bunny had been given the best care. Thank you to you both for your professionalism and kindness. It was much appreciated.

Receptionist was extremely unprofessional, rude and condescending over the phone. I have visited the clinic before and never had an issue. The impression given to me was that money is the number one priority. Sadly not the level of care and professionalism there once was.

Rude, rude, rude!! The vet won’t see you if your dog has been vomiting all day and you are 5 minutes late as you were picking up vomit on the carpet. Receptionist even more rude!! Run away from this clinic they are devils! Should have believed the reviews. Yuck!!

When you make an emergency appointment, and they unprofessionally change the time, and you are a few minutes late, yet are not allowed in "because if the dog is breathing, it's not an emergency" (yeah, if he wasn't breathing, he would be dead)... you know it's time to change vets... sad really, the old team were the best. Also, I may have been a few minutes late (I called, no one picked up), but the person before me was coming out of her appointment as I entered, so does that mean appointments are not even 10 minutes long now? My new vet is amazing, kind, compassionate and professional.
