Really great vet surgery, from the receptionist Sonia to our vet Bartek. They tried everything they could to save Ducati's eye and were fantastic with him. Highly recommend them to anyone.

My cat was referred to Elham with a suspected perforated cornea. He had an in-depth consultation and was admitted immediately for surgery, having a graft put onto his cornea and his 3rd eyelid closed. Unfortunately that evening his other eye developed the same issue, meaning he had to be seen as an emergency the next day. The second eye was not as severe as the first but he had to have his 3rd eyelid closed on that eye as well. This cat has other health issues including autoimmune disease with steroid treatment which can impact healing but within 2months we have gone from completely closed eyes, which I thought he may lose, to having full vision with very little sign that there was anything wrong, apart from regular eye drops. Now we just have to keep our fingers crossed it doesn’t reoccur… If it wasn’t for Elham, he probably would have ended up losing both eyes. The treatment is expensive, but as it is very much specialist treatment that is to be expected. I’ve always bee. Charged exactly what was quoted and they processed my insurance form after the 2nd check up once we knew he was recovering. Photos show initial eye issue, 2nd eye issue with one closed eye, both eyes closed and now, in recovery.

The staff here are brilliant and caring they sorted out my cats eye problem I wish my regular vets had just referred me to elham valley specialist sooner as my cat is no longer in pain with he's inturned eyelids that was causing him pain and ulcers. I am happy and my cat is now happy

Took my lurcher here today for a one hour eye exam, we were in there for 1hr 45mins, they were so thorough and careful, calm and friendly with her at the same time as getting done what was needed. She was anxious at first but she clearly trusted the vets because she didn't make any fuss. The vets took time to explain things to me and although her eye issue is still a mystery that needs further investigation, I have some answers already about her apparent sudden blindness. Very knowledgeable, would recommend. Back in 3 weeks for another appointment.

We’ve been visiting Elham Valley Referals since late 2019 when our Alaskan Malamute was referred for cataract. Our girl is very nervous of the vets but has really grown comfortable with the team. I feel this is testament to their care for all their clients. It’s not been an easy journey but our consultant has always been honest and open with us which has been very reassuring. Sadly, the June 2020 cataract surgery failed for our gorgeous girl. The consultant worked with us to try and bring raised optic pressure down but this was not sustainable from many points of view. She had her eye removed later that same year and her recovery has been amazing. She still goes back twice a year for check-ups on the remaining eye, which has a cataract, and despite being blind is managing really well. Whilst vet visits are not our favourite thing to do, our experience has made our many return visits so much easier. We really appreciate everything the staff have done over the years for our beautiful dog.

Our review of one star is for the nurse and receptionist. Make sure you get a written quote as we were categorically told we would not be charged for our follow up appointment for our dog's treatment, to be presented with a further bill for £133.00 for her check up. Despite trying to argue our case we were met with a blank wall and had no option but to pay our bill. We will not be using Elham Valley again.
