I have received acupuncture treatment from Martin at Element Healthcare in Frome for two weeks for an eye condition. Brief history - when I was 8 years old I had an accident that caused a fracture to the top of my left eye socket. In 2001 aged 41 I was having issues with my left eye, it was blood shot, dry and painful which got progressively worse.I was sent to an eye clinic and because I had dangerously high pressure levels they carried out laser treatment to open up the channels. The eye pressure settled down but not the pain, in fact it got worse. I was sent to several hospital eye clinics - Cambridge, Colchester,, Bournemouth and Poole, and even to the specialist eye hospital Moorfields in London. Each examination they would check the eye and confirmed it was healthy but could not explain or give me anything for the pain. The pain level at best was 5 on a scale of 1-10 and working during the day I could cope even when it elevated to 8 or 9. However, in the evening I struggled and when I was in bed it kept me awake or would stop me resting. I would get up any time from midnight and maybe not return to bed until 5 or 6 and sometimes not at all and this could be 4 or 5 times a week and I had to work the next day. After being told there was nothing to be done I had no choice other than to get on with it and cope as best I could. I have tried alternative solutions myself; a strong CBD oil being the latest, but it only masks the pain and its effectiveness soon diminishes. I have to be honest and say I was sceptical when I was first recommended seeing Martin for acupuncture treatment but the pain had become so intense and far more frequent I was willing to try anything. From my first treatment the pain began to subside and I was able to get a full nights sleep for the first time in years. After four treatments my eye is almost pain free. It still feels uncomfortable and waters a lot but I am now getting a good night sleep every night. I am not in a position to take this for granted but it is like a huge weight being lifted off me and each day and nights relief gives me more hope. I would definitely recommend having acupuncture treatment. Even for an sceptic like me it has changed my life.

I have suffered from excema for about 30 years and have had to take courses of steroids and use a lot of steroid creams over that time. This summer it was particularly bad, covering most of my torso. Since I started seeing Martin and followed a course of treatment consisting of herbal granules and creams the excema has completely cleared up. I am delighted with the result and if I have any further medical problems I will consult him again.

Highly recommend Martin at Element Healthcare. I saw him for several sessions for fertility treatment receiving acupuncture and the Chinese herbs. Martin was really easy to talk to and was very knowledgeable around fertility and I definitely felt an improvement after my initial sessions, I also fell pregnant very shortly after my final session with Martin and I think his treatments were certainly a contributing factor. Highly recommend! I contacted Martin and instantly got a reply regarding appointments, he listened to where and how I had discomfort and after 2 sessions feels like nothing was even wrong in the first place! The pain and discomfort has completely gone and cannot thank Martin enough for making me feel at ease. I am hugely thankful that I stumbled across Martin and managed to get an appointment with him. He listened....which is always a bonus with healthcare....and the lower rib discomfort I have had since Februaury after catching a virus (probably Covid given my symptoms were a lot like the experience of others who've had it) in January has gone. I have tried many other things in that time to get well and believe the herbal concoction he gave me did the trick in sorting that out. By the way....the herbs in my experience are not anywhere near as unpleasant as I was expecting or had been told by people. I would highly recommend this form of treatment to aid recovery from viruses and personally will definitely consult Martin again if I need to.
