A much overlooked piece of public art, one of two pieces "celebrating" the Albany and Sunlight Laundries. Sadly now faded and a little neglected.

As with all public art whether you like it is down to personal taste. The sculpture is part of two pieces of work commemorating the closed Albany Laundry and the Sunlight Laundry. The art was commissioned by Southend-on-Sea Borough Council via Focal Point Gallery and is the work of artist Bridget Smith.
