Non British passport holder tourists visa can take up to 3 months. My wife is not British but has a uk residence permit. It has been 2 months since her visa has not arrived yet, and we are expecting to fly in a week. Who would think of getting visa first before booking a holiday. Please don't go egypt you will waste money. Go elsewhere the visa process its so fast and you can do it online. What a joke for 7days you have wait 3 months for a visa. Egypt will lose all the business if they don't relax this rules.

They reject your visa application online without giving explanation, can’t edit the application and can’t get refunded. When going to the consulate, they told me they are not related to the online application. Had to resubmit and repay in person ; no one picks up the phone
