What a joke! 2 hours and I had to pay the bill at the till because other than the new girl on shift the other members were too busy congregating at the till having a chat including the bar staff and chef. Starters took 40 minutes to arrive. A dry garlic bread and over cooked hollumi. I have dined here more times than I can remember but today was a sham. Basics like clearing tables Replenishing cutlery Asking if we needed drinks All missed. I saw one young male member of staff stuffing food in his face whilst we waited for our food. He walked pass our tables more times than I can remember and even once stared straight through me when I needed cutlery. Then on top of that I was given the incorrect bill. I live locally so I was passionate about supporting local businesses however todays meal was a joke. Kid-friendliness: High chairs

Lovely food, great menu, lovely building and brilliant service, I visited (not my first visit) with my parents on the 16th may, the service was a little slow, a couple of bits not quite right with the order, however the food and service was worth the wait, it was evident there was few staff working, which sadly I believe to be a reflection of the current climate and cost crisis we are in. With that in mind we proceeded with patience and understanding. The food was brilliant, great portions and presented lovely, but what was even better was the service provided by a young lad called Daniel, it was evident he was very busy and doing his absolute best, never have I had such lovely service, he was so friendly, accommodating, determined to help, all around an absolute delight and what an asset to the team he must be! His service is one of the many reasons we will return! Great food, great service, I hope more people consider the current state of the country and the knock on affect this will take on these businesses, these hard working and friendly folk are doing a brilliant job as best as they can, a little patience goes a very long way and is well worth the wait!

First time dining experience at the Ego at Ackworth. Booked a table for 2. Parked up no issue. Promptly seated at a table for 4. Food and service outstanding. 3 courses and 2 round of drinks. Expensive but worth it in my eyes. Worth a visit if looking to treat yourself.

Internet was down and was advised to get cash from an ATM at Tesco, 10 minutes away. Got back an hour later only to find that the internat was back up. That alone wasn't the problem. My dessert, a crumble, came with a burnt topping. It was replaced but although the replacement was as badly burnt, it was nonetheless burnt too! On paying (by card!!!), I mentioned this to the waitress who just gave me a glib "sorry about that that". Bad things happen in all businesses but it's how they are handled that makes for contented customers and I am not a contented customer. Kid-friendliness: Babies and children made welcome.
