    Quirky Island in the middle of The River Thames at Twickenham. Known for it's musical history during the late 1950's and 1960's. But was also known for it's musical extravaganzas during the victorian era. The bridge was erected in 1957. Before that it could only be reached by ferry. Nice place to take a quiet gander around. Some parts of it are locked off from the public. But it is still a very pleasant stroll. In close proximity to York House Gardens and The Italian Fountain of reclining Oceanic Nymphs aka Pearl Divers. And Champions Wharf, Eel Pie Island Museum, Twickenham Museum, The Barmy Arms and The Eel Pie Pubs. On the other side of The Thames is Ham House and Garden with Ham Lands opposite the Island. Easily accessed by The Hammerton's Ferry from the Twickenham bank of The Thames. Nearest station is Twickenham.
