So surprised by the tea rooms, paid £10.95 for a chicken Caesar salad, it was very small and mostly chicken and bread, it tasted nice but the salad element was just too small, we also paid £11 for a vegetarian brunch, there was an egg, a slice of dry bread, a small spoon of beans, half a tomato a small vegetable sauce and a little stick of halloumi. Very disappointing! It also took ages to arrive.

As a vegetarian I was pleased that they had coronation chickpea sandwiches which were delicious. Unfortunately it would have been nice to have our tea at the same time as rhe food. The system here is crazy! We waited half an hour for the tea! Our sandwiches long finished! At least they did give me oat milk, much to my husbands consternation as he had to have it too! Hehe

Although we had very comfortable seats and it was clear that the young people employed in the tea room were working hard we were disappointed overall. The cakes on offer were all filled with gunge so we elected to have tea cakes. They arrived cold this was in keeping with the drinks which were tepid. Noise from the service area was also detracted from the experience. As the Art Gallery was not properly open we endured further disappointment

Nice environment. Friendly staff, most of them anyway, fairly tasty food, nice selection of drinks. We were 5 adults and two children. Had to wait around 40 minutes to get everyone's food and the last order was forgotten. Such a shame. The young lady bringing the food was obviously there for the money unfortunately and minutes social skills. Who seemed to be the manager more then made up for her lack of skills. He was very refreshing and chatty and asked if we were ok a few times. Overall, a pleasant experience. I recommend this place too as it's warm and inviting.
