*update* I recently had the pleasure of doing a half day keeper experience that was a fab Xmas present from my boss. Experience was great and got to spend time with some of the amazing animals the zoo has including little Otis that I had never actually seen before! Thanks to Charlie for his time and knowledge, he was excellent. Great choice of animals, star attraction are of course the giant pandas and they don’t disappoint, they’re amazing! Will really miss them when they leave, you can’t help but smile when you see them, they are a joy, they have been a great addition and have brought so many people to the zoo from all over the country which is good to see. 🤞🐼 Giraffe enclosure is very good, has upper and lower viewing platforms as well as the outside platform so you can get good views of them. 🦒 Budongo trail is always fun, the chimpanzees are such characters and are great to watch! 🐒 Penguins Rock is always popular and you can spend ages there watching the various antics of the Gentoo, King and Rockhoppers. Watch out for the famous king penguin Brigadier Sir Nils Olav and gentoo Snowflake! 🐧 I’m a member and enjoy regular visits to the zoo as there’s so much to see and I will never get bored. Yes it’s steep in parts but the website advises you of this so it shouldn’t be a surprise when you are there! If you do struggle with mobility then they do have a vehicle that can take you up to the high parts. And you can also hire mobility scooters as well now. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, the keepers are always happy to answer any questions that you have and it’s lovely to see how passionate they are for the animals they are taking great care of.
