My mum became a resident at Edgbaston Manor - then Gracewell - in August 2021. We were very apprehensive about sending her into a care home but our fears were very quickly allayed. The love, warmth, care and attention that she received was overwhelming. In November 2022 she suffered a stroke and the hospital sent her home on end of life care which was devastating, however the team went into overdrive to nurse her back from end of life care. She is now eating very well, although has to be fed and they have even managed to hoist her out of bed so she can sit in her favourite recliner chair. Just amazing - I couldn't recommend this care home enough.

My Aunt joined this care home in February for end of life care. Sadly she passed away just before Christmas far exceeding her life expectancy. The care and compassion she received from all of the staff at all levels was absolutely outstanding. She was treated with the utmost respect and dignity. I was also given so much support. Thank you Edgbaston Manor, you made a very difficult time easier to cope with. A wonderful place.

My Grandad moved into Edgbaston Manor July 2021, he settled in straight away and the care he received was exemplary. All staff cared for him and made the effort to get to know him and made to move from home into a nursing home environment manageable for him. I cannot thank all of the staff enough for what they did for my Grandad, me and my Mom - I will be forever Grateful.

I wanted to put no star rating but it would not post. Please, do not be seduced by the look of the home, it does not make up for the care your loved one will received. I brought my mother who has dementia, diabetes and hypertension to Gracewell Edgbaston for a months stay, for which we paid over £3,000.00. My sister and I had to go everyday to feed our mother because they did not have the time or resources to do so. At the time we did not realise that the food we were feeding her was the only food she received each day. Three weeks into her stay I had to call her GP into the home, because I found our mother unresponsive and panting (like she was trying to catch her breath) I asked the nurse was she aware of my mothers condition? She said she was fine. The GP examined her and called for urgent transport to hospital. The GP asked the nurse on duty when her blood sugars was last checked, there was no record of any of my mothers observations and when asked for an explanation the nurse became argumentative and angry, her blood sugar was unrecordable by the GP, low blood pressure and tachycardic. The ambulance crew when they arrived found her blood sugars to be abnormally high and dehydrated. They gave her glucose and IV fluids. My sister and I went to the hospital with our mother. During the night when I got home, the doctor telephoned me to say they do not think she would survive the night and she was not for resuscitation should she go into arrest, because of her frail state. My mother was in hospital for three weeks. Taking your vulnerable relative there (Gracewell Edgbaston) is asking for ongoing long term problems to your loved one, that you could never foresee and have devastating effects on all the family. I have a woman (our mother) who is a shadow of the person she was six weeks before her stay at Gracewell Edgbaston. If we could have the time back, we would have carried on with the care we did at home and not take her anywhere near that place but especially the staff who were paid handsomely and were supposed to be responsible for looking after and caring for her.
