Hopelessly inadequate at dealing with anything more than the most basic interactions.

Awful company to deal with. If you have the pleasure of calling them, you go to an off shore call centre where the background noise is awful. They can never help and you end up achieving nothing. The customer service is appalling. As soon other option going to leave.

EDF ENERGY customer services, an oxymoron if there ever was one. Their contact service relies on clearly overworked individuals fighting fires via WhatsApp. They’re told to type the system is designed with the customer experience in mind. However the customer experience is deplorable. Their contact system is designed to maximise EDF profits. Send a message when it’s convenient for the customer, only to receive an automated reply informing you EDF will respond within 24 hours, when it’s convenient for them. Request a refund of the £1,300+ credit you have with EDF to be told it will arrive within 5 working days. After 11 working days and endless messages via WhatsApp (each time having to go through the nonsensical security which is typed above in the message thread half a dozen times) I was told there’s a technical problem and EDF aim to resolve my refund by the 24th (another 10 working days). So I ask. Is the EDF system set up for the benefit of customers or for the benefit of EDF? Their obscene profits would suggest the latter.

This is the first time I have ever made a formal complaint or make a negative review! We were transferred to the EDF after our original supplier went bust. We moved house recently and we transferred our account with the EDF recently. Upon moving to the new property, we tried to give our meter readings online but we were only able to give electricity reading, there is no option to give gas reading. We called the costume services and we were told there is no gas supply to the property even though there was gas. We called them again and this time we were told there was a gas supply but on diffident account! How is this even possible for one property to have two different accounts! We called again and asked for this to be sorted, they said it will be sorted it and both accounts will be merged together, but the escalation would be made for this to happen. We waited but still nothing. 2 months passed now, with no action, we don’t really know how much we are meant to paid for gas as we don’t have any detail for that account. We attempted to raise a formal complaint today. We have called 5 times, each time we called we have been hang up on with no action to been taken. The costume service are really rude and really poor!! If I could give 0 or minus score, I would!! The next step for us will be raise a complain to the Ombudsman now. Although the energy suppliers are pretty much all same price now, please do your research on the costume service. If we knew they are that incompetent we would not have chosen this supplier! Avoid them at any cost!!

Worst customer services ever! They claim outstanding invoices when I moved to another supplier 2 years after leaving and now passed me on to debt collector - even though I provided evidence of payments. Avoid EDF at all cost!

Customer Service is disgusting, there seem to be few experienced staff, each time you call you get a different answer, they don't know what they are doing, seem to not know their systems, and can't process simple tasks, there needs to be a significant amount of training to be carried out here, I'm left after each call feeling frustrated, upset and anxious, I don't know what to do about my problems as they don't seem to know how to help

Waited 2 months for them to come look at installing a Smart Meter. When they came (November 2021), they said their system was down and they'd need to come back. I then had to wait until June for them to contact me. They said they'd come on the 21st of July. They never turned up and I never heard anything back. It's extremely difficult for me to top up my electricity stick because the buses in my area have been cancelled and I don't drive. With rising energy costs, I'd also like to keep an eye on my energy usage. Poor service and I'm extremely disappointed.
