We had a family holiday in Sri Lanka with Upul as our guide and what an amazing guide he was too. Nothing was too much trouble for him, he always remained in charge of every situation whether it was being stuck in traffic or helping us with our lost luggage & our youngest daughter being sick in the car!!!! The five of us had an amazing trip and Upul looked after us in every detail you can imagine. He always had a smile on his face even if it was 4 o’clock in the morning getting ready to drive us to Sigiriya Rock. My wife and I took our first trip to Sri Lanka in 2019 and Upul was our private guide for the two weeks we were there. We found Upul to be very knowledgeable about Sri Lankan history and the sites that we visited. He was flexible and relaxed about changing the schedule to take account of weather and our preferences for what we wanted to do and see. We visited Sri Lanka in December 2018 for a week. Trip was most relaxing and enjoyable and both due to sights and experience of being in a new country and the hospitality, friendliness and accommodating attitude of Upul Perrera, our personal guide. We visited multiple places in Sri Lanka. Upul arranged for us to visit Sir Arthur C. Clarke’s residence in Colombo. This was amazing visit for which he obtained special permission for us. Upul was our private guide during our tour of Srilanka. He not only showed us the standard hot-spots during the trip, but also took us to beautiful other places. For example, we had a delicious meal (lunch) at a local farmer's house among the rice fields. He also often asks what do you want to see and then he adapts the program slightly. For example, we already had a safari where we had seen many elephants, so during the other safari we stood still in the park for a very long time, because the guide said that there was a leopard nearby. We really wanted to see one, so we all sat quietly and waited, which resulted in a leopard walking right in front of our car. If we go to Srilanka again, we will definitely book the trip with Upul by Ecoceylon Hollidays Ltd.

In 2017 we travelled through SriLanka for 11 days with a wonderful guide and driver, T.Upul Perera. We were not with Ecoceylon then, but we understand Upul has now embarked on a new adventure with this company. Upul was a brilliant guide, and careful driver, taking us off the beaten track a few times to show us things we had not expected. After 11 days in his company, we, from Perth, Australia, plus our 2 friends from the UK travelling with us, found we had a friend for life, and we still keep in touch with him. Upul is a very kind, nice man and good company.
