Ive passed through this station for years but ive recently started using Parkway more. The other day i was back here and saw a member of the public struggling with one of the self service machine and they were getting a little distressed (I think they had some kind of disability). I then saw one of the managers come over to give them a hand. He showed them how it worked, asked questions about where they were going, how they wanted to get there and if they needed any assistance with access further into their journey. It really calmed them down and clearly changed the experience for the customer. He even guided them accross to the right platform. I had a chat with the staff member afterward and he was a really nice bloke. Had a little chat about the infamous Romsey Rocket and he really knew his stuff. Anyway, it was nice to get such an all-round experience from simply going to the train station. Its so disheartening that some companies are trying to get rid of staff like this at stations. I know so many people who are straight up afraid of taking the train for fear of making a mistake nowdays, so something as simple as having a natter goes a long way to making you feel comfortable at a station and wanting to use trains more often. I think the staff member said his name was Tom, so Tom, if youre reading this, Cheers!

Sundays “Bus Replacement” service was a joke. Had to wait 90mins for a bus to Southampton. More than 200 hundred people waiting. You must have known how many tickets were sold for Southampton at any given time. Why did you not plan accordingly?

I normally just come here and visit friends, but sometimes I find the staff incredibly rude! One morning I was trying to get out of the station I showed my ticket to the guard then they said do you have ur Railcard with you I say yes. They asked me to let me get it out they said “you seem like u left ur Railcard at home”. Then the staff just instantly wrote a fine and I keep on saying I got it on my iPad but they refuse for me to show it. So I highly don’t recommend coming here in the morning times
