I have been a student here for almost 6 years. I had never learned an instrument before and started as a total beginner at 30 and I’m now preparing to take grade 8. I have had the same teacher throughout and even stuck with her when I moved to south london, so have to make quite a long trip to lessons now. I did try a different teacher once but soon came back. Having the right person really makes a difference, it’s not just technical skills - I feel like my development is cared about and I’m continually pushed to be more ambitious at what I can do and achieve with the piano. I’m honestly so thrilled at the progress I’ve made so based on my experience I’d recommend the school.

My daughters have been taught by Michael for a couple of years now. They both learn very differently and Michael has the patience, flexibility and expertise to bring out the best in them. Alongside more formal grading, both are enjoying playing by ear, improvising and composing their own music - Michael is wonderful at building their confidence as musicians not just students. I am so pleased with my older daughter's tutor- Michael. He is so kind, thoughtful and very professional. After 7 months studying at ELP, my daughter is improving alot and she had just got Distinction on her ABRSM grade 1. I am looking forward to sending my younger daughter to ELP next year.
