We spent a very pleasant half day here looking at the old signal boxes, engines and carriages, and chatting to the very knowledgeable volunteers who operate the working signals and are restoring old rolling stock. The cafe does a great bacon or sausage bap (lots of other choices too), and you can eat either on a platform or in a dining carriage. My 8 year old loved the double decker bus and the two Hornby setups. Discount entry when you arrive by train from Sudbury or Marks Tey.

Visited on a steam day had a marvellous time. Steam train and railbus rides all day. Model railway layouts running, minature train rides, old double decker bus and old carriages. Kids had a great time. Also play area, picnic tables, pub with bottled beer and wine. Good cafe on platform 2 with outdoor seating or in a dinning. Good reasonably priced hot food, sandwiches, cakes, soft drinks and hot drinks. Good day out with kids.
