  We looked for ages to find a designer that had a style we liked then saw Earth Designs on Pinterest. Although we were outside their catchment area for the design and build service, we valued the design. Kat agreed to provide a remote design service from concept to final scheme with planting. It was an absolute pleasure working with Kat and her team. She challenged us on a a number of our choices which is exactly what we needed to come up with the final design. Thanks Kat, cant wait to get it landscaped. Service: Garden design

  We have never used a garden designer before, but having moved to a new build house with just a patch of grass (overlooked) we felt we needed some advice and inspiration. We therefore decided to book an online consultation with Earth Designs. We really enjoyed the experience. The Zoom call was relaxed and informal. Katrina took into account our wishes and made some practical suggestions. After an initial chat, I felt she totally understood the style we were aiming for. To my surprise, she suggested designing the garden at an angle – something I would never have thought of. I now realise it makes perfect sense with our wide but shallow garden. She suggested different seating areas for different times of the day, taking into account the position of the sun and our preferences and lifestyle. She suggested trees and shrubs we could plant to make the space feel more private. Finally, she gave us a lovely labelled sketch of the basic plan and we are now excited to make a start implementing all the ideas. We were so impressed with the service that we are now considering asking Katrina to help us with the next stage in producing a detailed plan, 3D visuals and a planting list.   We had an online consultation with Katrina and found it to be super useful. She had great ideas to enhance our long and narrow garden and also great tips for building in interest for kids without it taking over the garden and also growing with them. We had had a consultation with someone else prior to this and the experience was night and day - despite it only being a short session Katrina’s ideas were tailored to our space and she provided a follow up sketch which has been so useful to work on the space (we are doing as much ourselves as we can - if we had the budget, we’d definitely use Katrina more).   As a relatively inexperienced gardener, I was overwhelmed by my house's new build garden which was a total blank slate. Katrina took the time to listen to what we wanted, and came up with a beautiful design drawing to inspire us. The consultation was so helpful, and she thought of ideas I never would have dreamed of which work so well with what we were looking for.   After receiving a disappointing garden design from somewhere recommended, I found Katrina through Pinterest. From the start, she was very flexible and approachable. We gave Katrina our wish list for our garden and despite it not being a huge plot, she somehow managed to incorporate everything we asked for!   Katrina produced a wonderful design for our back garden. It included a WWOO kitchen with a Big Green Egg, which wasn't initially in our plans. We were in awe of it, and decided to continue with the plan. Needless to say we have been using it throughout the winter, despite the weather. Katrina also incorporated Moroccan tiled walls, Moroccan screens above our pergola, and my favourite a FIG tree. Lots of trees, grasses and ferns were planted too. Six months on from completion we still stand at our kitchen window gawping at our lovely garden. The plants are starting to really establish themselves, and are starting to flower. We will be out in that garden once the weather turns warmer. Thank you Katrina, Matt and team x

  I want to create a garden from scratch next year and already had quite firm design ideas but thought I’d take advantage of getting professional ideas on top. Katrina listened, challenged, opened my mind to new ideas, vistas, areas and practical ways to start looking things. Exactly what I needed. Well worth the fee. Also an enjoyable two hours on Zoom and a design drawing I can go back to.

  We used Earth Designs to provide the initial concept design and this was achieved over a Zoom call. Elements of the design were really great and helpful. Some small parts did not quite work for us but that would have been worked through had we decided to move to the next stage (full survey and scaled drawings) . As with all designers, Katrina has a vision and that approach has to be respected as you are paying after all for her creativity. If on a budget though, be careful to have an idea about what's less of a compromise to you and what you're happy to work around, unless your budget can buy the total vision. Overall, we received some great ideas that we would not have realised on our own. We'd definitely recommend Earth Designs, clearly a professional and complete service.
