I had my driving test today. And was extremely nervous ! My examiners name was Gazelle, she was very clam and fair and was really clear with her instructions, and this helped me to calm while proceeding with my test. She let me know we would be doing our maneuver, (reverse bay park) in good time and this allowed me to position the car properly before hand. I think it's easy to be on edge before your test, but remember, your examiner is only human too!

Kevin is a brilliant examiner, very carm and a friendly person. He made me feel comfortable and relax. I was absolutely nervous to take my test, but after meeting Kevin, I just knew that I would perform that day. I passed my test first time with 5 minors. Thank you Kevin for the person that you are especially at a time when a person just feels under so much pressure.

Cross your fingers that you will not get driving instructor John, at least not catching him on a bad day. He is very grumpy and I will tell you about what happened under my test later on. He was quite short by the start and did not enjoy that the car was parked 1 minute walking from the test centre. He asked which way the car was facing in the calm suburb street (there is no traffic at all) and he was visibly angry that my girlfriend had moved the car to face the test centre while I waited. Then he sat down and complained about the provided mirror I got at Halfords and said that if he cannot see properly the test would not be able to start. I understand that he needs to see properly but this is not really the manner doing it in quite an aggressive way is does really not help someone otherwise nervous taking their drivers test waiting 7 months and taking time off to relax. However, he got the mirror and we continued. In the test we had a lot of incidents where mistakes would happen and thankfully I was able to act responsibly during all of them (to my surprise!). Towards the end a woman and a kit crosses the street with a bay and make a jump to continue while I am driving towards them. I lightly do 1/4th break in order to reduce the speed from 30 to 25 mph for better control but also to have my feet on the break should they make for a leap. They stay put and I continue past it as I have right of way. This apparently was my only serious fault. My fault was that I did not look properly in the mirrors when I breaked. I told him I did not actually break but I only made a slight reduction in speed. He said he would not argue with me but that the lack of mirror-checking was noticed in other situations too. What other situation? Is this a major? I think not. In his defense there seems to be some positive comments about a John so maybe it was just a bad day for him.
