Dissappointed and will not be comming back. I popped in today with my daughter to get some treats for our rescue dog with severe allergies. The elderly woman was helpful and so was the man with long hair. My dog came from a very bad situation and has a crazy amount of allergies to the point we have to cook for him and have a specific mealplan for a dog nutritionist. He also gets injections because his allergies are so bad. Usually these last 4-5 weeks and we only get 1.5-2 weeks out of them - its that bad! Anyway, as soon as a man callled tim joined the search for treats it became unfriendly. He kept commenting on my dogs diet and that its not natural etc because my dog has issues with most meats apart from some exotic ones, eg crocodile and kangaroo. And because my dog also has issues with large amounts of lactose. He also cannot have apple, oats, coconut and countless more. On top of that environmental allergies too.I explained he gets injections, having to defend myself (why?) And when explaining the treats with cows milk would have too much lactose i got comments on that aswell. Many dogs have issues with lactose and for someone who works in a petshop i am dissappointed you don't know. Thats the reason why most dog foods would have cottage cheese or quark, because these are very low in lactose whereas plain cows milk has 5%. After leavingni felt sad that i have to defend my dogs diet and getting comments on it. I shouldnt even have to explain myself and defend his specific diet. And id rather think people would support looking after your dig so welll by trying to avoid all allergens? Ah yes and on the allergy tests i explained about, tim also commented on that apparently thats very odd and unusual with a funny look on his face. I assume tim knows better than our vets and the laboratory. Again, as someone who works in a petshop he should know that esp, when a dogs allergies are being ignore the body starts reacting to more and more. Its the same in humans and any gp can explain that to you. Verh dissappointed and obviously a loss of a new customer.

The man behind the counter was very rude to my wife and disabled daughter. Firstly we couldn't get her wheelchair in the shop and it is not posted anywhere we could see that it's 'Not' wheelchair friendly. He seemed very angry and belligerent when he was asked if they had any goldfish....in a pet shop!🤷♂️ As if we should magically know that a pet shop that still has fishtanks in place for selling fish doesn't actually sell fish... Especially as the person who bought us our fish (which recently died) told us they bought the afore mentioned fish from this shop! We will not visit them again.

Old school local pet store, selling many things unavailable in the megashops. Small, cramped and full of essentials and desirables. But the real bonus is the customer service. Very helpful, prepared to give you time and attention and simply very nice people.
