I approached Duchy hospital for an appointment regarding a knee issue. Within three weeks I’d seen Mr Lee, a fantastic Surgeon, had an MRI and had my surgery. Mr Lee’s administration services are exceptionally well organised, with nothing being too much trouble. Every member of staff within Duchy was fantastic, the radiographers, the nursing team, the physios and the theatre team were all professional, knowledgeable but also wonderfully warm and friendly. All non-clinical staff were equally attentive with nothing being too much trouble, no question left unanswered and the catering team providing a wonderful choice of food to meet every need. Thank you Duchy for providing ease of service, care and comfort within a safe environment, a wonderful team.

I had a gynae procedure performed by Miss Farah Lone. Her professionalism, skill, care and empathy were outstanding and made me feel I was in very safe hands. I would highly recommend Miss Lone to anyone in need of gynae surgery - she is one of the very best.

I received outstanding treatment and care at Duchy hospital under the care of Mr Butler as a private patient, my surgery went smoothly, and my recovery was totally pain free; 3 weeks in and I’m almost fully recovered! I chose my surgery date and I waited 6 weeks, I could have have had surgery even quicker than that, totally amazing service. The nurses were lovely, so attentive, in fact every member of staff I met was lovely, friendly and smiley and made me so relaxed and at ease. Thank you Duchy Hospital!

Im a very laidback person so I’m literally crying writing this review - that’s not me at all . I needed to see a Gynaecologist, my hormones were killing me so I’ve decided to go private . What a massive mistake . Firstly on their website first visit was 250£ but I was charged by Miss Farah Lone 300£ - there was no way to get to see someone on NHS so I continued with Miss Lone . I had a blood test done and scan - (not at the hospital but she knew someone in town that’s where she’s sent me to ) . At that scruffy little place where I had the scan done , the lady ( very nice and polite ) has told me she will sent the scan results to Miss Lone to wait till she contacts me . Well mean time I bought my first house and moved as Miss was communicated with me via email it didn’t even crossed my mind to tell her I’ve moved as there was no need for that . The waiting game continued . Last week I got a phone call thinking finally . I’ve answered and OMG I’ve never felt more humiliated ! - first words were “ you owe us money and we will sent bailiffs , so incredibly rude and unprofessional I broke down on the street! I said hold on , I was waiting for you to contact me , she was you should contact us . So unprofessional so rude it’s actually sad ! I said ok email me the bill what I owe / I’m not trying to avoid that , I genuinely did what they asked me to do - wait ! If she could call me now why didn’t she call me earlier ? Or email me ? So unorganised she didn’t even have my email address at the end ! Well so it cost me 300£ first visit 225£ scan 766.69 £ blood test - 1291.69£ just to get a mouthful and no treatment ! Rude rude and rude . I’m seeing a solicitor on the 4th of January as this can not happen to someone else! I’m horrified

Beware, private healthcare has to be more than just having a private room. My experience of nurses & catering staff were nice and professional. Post-op physiotherapy and surgical outcome less so sadly. I know trades people have a saying "measure twice cut once!". Makes sense and I may have benefitted from that however even more useful is to try and determine cause and effect by ruling out other possibillities pre-surgery rather than after. I have made a formal complaint so no need to reply to this review.
