I can't really comment much about the course because when only used the venue for a family wake. The food was very nice but the staff a little over keen to remove your plate. Seeing as it was a buffet and the plates only capable of fitting a couple of sandwich triangles a sausage roll and a bit of salad, most folk intended to return for further selections of food but if you weren't careful your plate had been taken away.

Very welcoming friendly golf club, course progressing year on year and boasts superb greens 12 months of the year. Food always very pleasant and a lovely patio area. Award winning pro shop, with very knowledgeable pro team. Would definitely recommend a visit!

The good: The greens are always immaculate and true. A real pleasure to play on The fringes, approaches and tee boxes are fantastic too. The green keeping staff have done a great job. The pro shop staff are very friendly and can't help you enough. The pro shop is fully stocked with quality gear and the staff know what they're talking about. The bar staff are friendly and the food is great. The bad: The fairways are absolutely shocking (putting it nicely). Totally bald in any areas and this has been an historical problem with the course that no one seems to take ownership of. The bunkers are appalling. Full of stones and absent of sand. Ball washers are broke and empty. The course is very senior heavy and the structure is set up to appease them. It's a very clicky golf course and if you're not in said click then I have to say it's not very welcoming at all. The course is at capacity and despite this they have no booking system (despite the majority wanting one). Meaning it's a lottery whether the course is empty or you can expect to stand waiting for a substantial amount of time to play golf. Even then the club don't seem to be concerned about slow play so expect a 4:30 hr round. The club house looks like an old people's home (despite a recent refurbishment) and the bar isn't a spike bar. And of course drayton would never allow a person to change their shoes in the car park so back and forth you have to go to get a pint of beer

All I can say about this place is dont go there ! As a member for two years I can honestly say I've never been to a golf course that is so un-welcoming, all they are interested in is the seniors section . They have no booking system so you have to turn up and just hope there isn't 10 people waiting to tee off , and if your not in the "click "you are not welcome. The greens are very good but that's where it ends . The fairways are bald and the bunkers are the worst bunkers I've ever played, some of them have sand in and then others have what I can only describe road stone an inch under the surface of the sand . avoid this place at all costs , there are lots of much better, and much more friendly golf courses in the area.
