Since being taken over its much better. We always loved DM for nostalgia reasons so all the good rides are still there, but the new ones are fab and the whole park is clean and well maintained. Plenty for all ages including little ones with Thomas Land. The burger kitchen food is lovely. Only negative is that entrance fee is very pricey so won't be visiting often, shame. But otherwise the park is great! 👍

I planned my visit in advance as we have never visited the park or zoo before, as I knew the day was zoo only I was surprised to only see maybe 30 other guests while visiting. I also only saw 2 staff (technically 5 but 3 were in animal compounds). As we drove in there was 1 directional sign advising where the zoo parking was which we followed and as we have never been here we ended up arriving at the caravan site following the road barriers that were placed in the road. We turned around and went back to to the entrance to the security hut and they advised us to drive back down the hill to car park 2. This was great but there are no signs expressing what number any location is, maybe this is fine that the staff know car park numbers but visitors do not know this especially when they are not labelled. The zoo was extremely quiet which was nice but very surprising so my 2 year old absolutely loved the freedom to roam around but now the big down side of our visit was the food service, there was only 1 food location open and this is not clear on the website or the app as it suggests a possible 2 locations should be open. We went back to the tea rooms (as this was the only open option) and placed our order from the menu on display only to be told by staff they don't have any of the food off the menu as it's a zoo only day so was offered a hot sausage roll only instead. As this was the only option we bought (£26 for 4 sausage rolls, a cappuccino, a latte and a muffin seriously that's ⅔ of the entrance price we paid of £39.) we were hungry so we had no option and paid only to then be told it's gonna be another 15mins wait for them to cook the sausage rolls when they arrived we had to wait another 10mins for them to cool especially for my son to eat. The staff were constantly telling other visitors there was no food most walked away and left a few stayed and paid the price and there was a few visitors that had pack lunches. After our "snack" we slowly walked back through the zoo out to go home we probably would have stayed longer but as we were still hungry we called it a day, as we left there was 2 staff on the exit gate they said fair well and said the car park is free so the barrier will just open. Free car park! This is great but as the website states the car park is £6 and advises buying tickets and parking in advance I did this and ended up wasting more money on a very disappointing day. Spending:- Entrance = £39, Food = £26, Parking = £6 (£71 for 4 hours) Overall not a very good experience for my first and more than likely last visit to your park.
