Very happy with the care received from Dr Duncan. He was always available over the phone which was very reassuring. He was very professional and his calm and confident approach inspired so much confidence and was reassuring to both me and my husband on the day of the delivery, especially as my baby decided to come earlier and we were very worried and unprepared. My experience of the actual c section surgery is very positive too due to Dr Duncan, he was also very attentive to check on my recovery and went out of his way to help with some administrative issues for our baby which was very kind. Overall very happy with the scar as well which is healing well.

Dr Duncan was recommended by a good friend of mine, and I started under his care in December when I was 4 months pregnant. We had a really positive experience throughout: consistently calm, reassuring and (as needed) humorous, he always made himself available and ensured that I went into my c-section feeling totally safe and confident. The procedure itself went so smoothly, with Dr Duncan and the team at the Portland making it a truly memorable and enjoyable experience for us both. 10 days postpartum and I’ve no doubt that it’s Dr Duncan’s surgical skills that have enabled me to make such a speedy recovery - like others, I’m delighted with the neatness of my incision too. Finally, I also have to call out Colette in his team, whose humour and friendliness always serves to make us smile when we go in for our appointments. Thank you :)

I had an elective Caesarean with Dr. Duncan at The Portland recently, and have had an extremely positive experience. He had been recommended by 2 obstetric colleagues, and my husband (a surgeon) felt very confident in his abilities after our inital consultation. Dr. Duncan was very easily accessible via both message and phone both before and after the Caesarean, and provided immediate support when I had queries. The Caesarean itself went very smoothly, with an extremely quick recovery time - I was up and about in no time with minimal discomfort. The scar has healed very well and is barely visible. I had some medical complications to the pregnancy and these were taken very seriously, with plans in place for any potential adverse outcome, which was extremely reassuring. The stay at The Portland was fantastic, with amazing postnatal support. This, plus the care received from Dr. Duncan, made the experience of birth very positive and enabled me to recover more quickly than anticipated. We are very grateful to have had such a great experience, thank you!

I met Dr. Duncan last October as I was experiencing pain inside my c-section wound - 2 months after an NHS delivery. It turned out to be an infection, which Dr. Duncan successfully treated. He was very kind and took the time to explain in detail without using too much medical jargon. Furthermore, he referred me to an osteopath and physio for postnatal treatment, and kindly found out the name of the surgeons who did my c-section at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital (strangely, nobody else there could give me those names for my record). These positive experiences have made me confident that I will choose Dr. Duncun at Portland Hospital for the next potential child delivery.
