Yorkshire Heritage Roofing have just completed a re-roof of my mid Victorian (1850-80) back to back terrace. The roof is constructed with the original Yorkshire stone slates. After getting a few quotes from a few different roofing companies I went with Ian and YHR after being particularly impressed with the attention and level of detail during our initial appointment. Ian must have spent over an hour talking through different options and explaining the whole process to me. The quote that came back was detailed, considered and competitive. I was working abroad while most of the work was done but Ian kept me informed every step of the way. I was definitely left with the sense that the team take pride in their work and nothing ever felt rushed. The final result is impressive. The roof is not only a fully sound and sealed structure but it also fits perfectly with the original look of the house. The replacement stone slates are an indistinguishable fit with the originals. I'd highly recommend Ian and YHR to anyone, especially if you've got a period property.

I had 5 quotes from 5 different contractors but YHR stood out as the choice for me from the start. Ian’s assessment of my roof was thorough. He went on the roof, took photos, spent over hour with me explaining his opinions. His approach was professional and detailed and I genuinely felt very well informed. I had to wait a few months for him to start the roof repair and porch re roof but he kept me updated. Ian and his team were clearly diligent in their work. I did not get the impression they were rushing or cutting corners but rather being thorough and giving me daily updates on their progress and plans for the next day. Even when the work was done the site was cleaned and left in a very tidy way - giving an impression as to how they carried out their work. A week later I had a minor query about the gutter on my house and Ian was back within 2 days to have a look and slightly adjust the angle on one of my gutters to improve the flow. He has remained professional and approachable throughout. Ian and his team are honest and clearly take pride in their work and I recommend him for consideration to anyone planning minor or major roofing work.
