    Central London location meant the price was fair. Doubletree began years back, but bought by Hilton in 1999, acquired the brand marque "by Hilton" in 2010. If you are expecting a 5 star Hilton, it isn't. But if Hilton did Premier Inn Plus with character and service, this might be it. Its signature gimmick is delicious warm chocolate chip cookies, originally a 1980s VIP treat, but now making everyone feel special – try asking for another one (my friend got 4 and I got 2!) These taste like they're worth $5 each! Reception were friendly and offered me free takeout coffee in the morning as my Nespresso machine had been faulty in the room (looked brand new and probably hadn't had a first steam through of water only). My friend in a wheelchair found all bar the breakfast buffet area accessible. It's a little difficult to see, let alone, access food at the back. I helped, and had she been solo, I'm sure staff could have assisted. Breakfast choices were limited but good. Radisson Blu are better. The bathroom had everything, including a bath, but it was compact. The room was quiet and near to London attractions and transport. Rooms: Basic done well with real coffee and a bath making it feel like compact luxury – it felt small, not spacious even though it was a Queen Room.
