If you love history and heritage it's nice place just to visit and have a picnic at the top. If you enjoy seeing old buildings/castles then worth the trip. It was disappointing to arrive at the top and have two grown men kicking a football at the outside of the building with no consideration for the buildings exterior and no thought of the damage it may cause. Well done lads!! There were nesting jackdaws in the old fireplace and windows, so they were also being a nuisance to the wildlife...

Beautiful location! Come here for a quiet evening and pack a picnic, plenty of space at the top. A few benches near the top to enjoy the view. Free car park with plenty of space for English heritage members, £2 otherwise. Short walk up a gradual climb is well worth the effort.
