I can't recommend this dojo highly enough - Seisei Gabriel and his team are wonderful. He knows each child well and will take the time to build their confidence and help them work through any moves they find difficult. Both my children have attended for years and get a huge amount out of these classes, both in terms of technical knowledge and general confidence and discipline. I recommend this dojo to all my friends - definitely worth doing a trial at the very least!

Not just a fantastic Sensei but one of the warmest, kindest people you will ever meet. I train in the adult class, all are my friends, everyone is humble, there are no rivalries with other clubs. The dojo is well run, the standard is excellent. I feel very safe but challenged when I need to be. If you are looking to take your child here they’ll love it! The kids are really friendly but polite, all well behaved. If you’re thinking about giving karate a try or coming back to it after a break, you absolutely should do that, here! You will be welcomed with open arms.

Gabriel knows every child's name by heart, treats them with respect, and models a wonderful self-assurance. Our children are 9 and 6, and they both adore their classes. I cannot recommend this dojo more highly; we feel extraordinarily privileged to be a part of it.

Gabriel Sensei and the Dojovanrel team are amazing, welcoming and supporting my daughter and me into their karate family since day one. From being a shy kid, my daughter has become more confident, disciplined and independent, and she absolutely adores Gabriel Sensei who is brilliant with kids. Both kids and adult classes are amazing - well-structured, mixture of fun games and great exercises. Gabriel Sensei is brilliant technically and he also breaks complicated concepts down so that everyone can understand. I’m glad that we have become a part of the Dojovanrel karate family!

Dojo Van Rel is a wonderful karate dojo. Our daughter has thrived under the care of Gabriel and his team. Gabriel is an inspired teacher - firm, clear, warm, full of praise and encouragement. Children's confidence grows steadily and they have a strong sense of achievement when progressing through their belt levels. It is very inclusive, everyone is made to feel welcome and encouraged equally. Children are not only taught karate skills, but are encouraged to look after themselves in a broader sense. Leadership opportunities exist for the older children. I am very pleased to have found this dojo many years ago and highly recommend it.

Dojo Van Rel is a wonderful place not only to learn and practice karate in a fun and friendly environment, but also to become part of a truly lovely community. I joined in January 2022 after a loooong hiatus and was welcomed with opened arms. Everyone was incredibly helpful and what little nerves I had in my first session were quickly dispelled as it became clear that everyone was there for the same thing — to learn and practice, of course, but also to improve as human beings and lift both ourselves and each other up! Gabriel Sensei is a wonderful teacher, but truly, I’ve learned from everyone in myriad ways. Each and everyone in the dojo is incredibly generous with their time and encouragements. :) Came to regain confidence in myself and reconnect with my favourite martial art, stayed for the absolutely brilliant people, the impeccable vibes and knowing I’m a part of a loving community. I feel stronger, fitter and overall, so much happier than before I started. Cannot recommend this dojo enough!
